Above the Greenland shark

1. Greenland sharks are deep-water sharks living at depths up to 2,000 m (6,600 ft). But they can live in shallower water. They have been filmed in shallow water 8m (24ft) deep.

2. They eat fish and mammals such as seals, reindeer, horses, and polar bears. This shark has been well documented as a scavenger.

3. Did you know that the flesh of a Greenland shark is poisonous.

4. This shark is not considered to be dangerous to humans.
